Identified 250 Science communicators among teachers, students of Education and social activist and trained these 250 communicators on innovative communication and teaching methods through traditional puppetry.
Implemented a innovative project called Nutrition Education for Women (NEW) in 5 districts of northern Karnataka to train representatives of SHGs, CBOs, teachers and representatives of Kishori Clubs to combat Iron deficiency anemia among rural women and adolescent girls.
Initiated Community Health Project to provide Primary Health Services through Mobile Health Clinics in identified 78 underserved and unreached villages situated in hilly and interior areas in 5 taluks of Belagavi district covering 1.00 lakh populations.
Commenced implementing an innovative – “Initiatives for Married Adolescent Girls Empowerment” Project targeting 600 early married girls below 18 years to promote and protect their rights, promote health, nutrition status, access education, promote social security and protect from gender based violence and to prevent further child marriages in the communities through the participation of local communities in Belgaum district.
Initiated Children Empowerment for GOOD (Getting out of Devadasi system and further dedication) Project in Belagavi, Vijayapura and Bagalkote districts to promote child rights and protect all kinds of exploitation and abuses against the girl children from Devadasi families.
Initiatives for Empowerment of Adolescent & Early Married Girls to Ascertain their Rights project has been supported by Azim Premji Foundation, Bengaluru and the area of operation of the project is entire Babaleshwar taluk of Vijayapura district covering all the 52 villages in 15 Gram Panchayats jurisdiction of the taluka.
