Job Description

Spur, a digital staffing agency, seeks a hard-working and punctual Special Education Aide with  Marion County. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for education and strive to advocate for students.

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside teachers and staff in their day-to-day activities with special needs students . Candidates are expected always to represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates must wear business casual clothing . Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Duties expected of this position are:

• Must have prior experience working alongside children, individually or in a group setting.
• Must be able to lift to 45 lbs.
• Must be able to assist with basic grade school-level class work.
• Prior knowledge of an IEP is favorable.
• They may be expected to escort or walk students to different activities within the school.
• Be able to adapt to different and changing behaviors.
• Must be open to helping new students with different needs as they may arise.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a State of Alabama Background check ($48.15)
• Required online training
• One of the following - Successful completion of at least 48 credit hours of college/university work or an associate degree or higher, or successful completion of 3 ACT workkeys assessment
