Open World was incubated within the walls of gaming firm, Loaded, and is a full-service community-minded marketing agency, connecting brands and developers with gamers around the world. Our Research & Analytics team is bringing an innovative suite of data products and research services to the gaming market, combining our proprietary behavioral dataset, PlayDX, with proven audience research methods. As Research Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of research projects, training and mentoring junior members of the team, building and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to study design and proposal creation. You will be a core member of our small but mighty R/DA team, and will be directly contributing to the growth of this new business unit. Our goal is simple: be the leading experts in gamer behavior and decision-making through smart analytics and insights that make us an undeniable industry partner. On any given day you might…

• Lead the development and execution of research projects leveraging our behavioral dataset, PlayDX, and primary research methods including quant and qual 
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to streamline processes and deliver high-quality results and recommendations 
• Identify, build, and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted research advisor 
• Develop and refine research proposals, including methodology recommendations and project scope
• Present research findings and strategic insights to clients through the lens of demonstrating the value and implications for their business
• Collaborate with our data science team to turn complex data sets into meaningful reports, proprietary frameworks, and new industry benchmarks 
• Work alongside our product team to build systems and outputs that allow us to scale our business quickly 
• Drive innovation in research methodologies and data collection techniques
• Contribute to the expert positioning of the company through the development of thought leadership, blogs, and social media posts   

To qualify, you have...

• 4+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or data analytics 
• Must be comfortable and experienced in quantitative research methods and data analysis including quotas, click balancing, weighting, cross tabs, and stat testing 
• Experience with qualitative research methods is strongly preferred   
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data
• Comfortable working with numbers, large datasets, and ambiguous information
• Experience in analytical storytelling, slide creation, and data visualization; experience in building dashboards is a plus
• Top-notch written and oral communication skills
• High proficiency in Excel
• Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with SQL is a plus  
• Experience with R or Python is a plus
• Passion for the entertainment and gaming industries with a strong POV 
• Self-starter with a growth mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Previous experience in gaming research is a strong advantage 
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field

Salary Range: $110,000-$125,000 (plus bonus)
